What is Hypothyroidism?

Hypothyroidism is a condition caused by insufficient production of Thyroid hormones by the Thyroid gland which is located in the neck just below the Adam's apple. Hypothyroidism can produce many symptoms including fatigue, intolerance to cold, constipation, paleness, bradycardia and low body temperature.

The conventional method to treat Hypothyroidism is with synthetic version of the Thyroid hormone T4 or Thyroxine. This works well for many but others can have side effects and therefore look for alternative methods to treat their condition. Sometimes this is done with natural Thyroid hormones which is derived from the Thyroid gland of pigs or with healing protocols using vitamins, herbs and detox programmes.
